— Monkey Flower Ranch
The Monkey Flower Ranch sits in the pristine tip of the southern Sequoia National Forest, adjacent to the Brightstar Wilderness, where our 90 private acres connect seamlessly to thousands of square miles of BLM land. This is an amazingly remote piece of nature that puts you right at the heart of endless high desert adventures.

Your high desert adventure playground awaits. Hike desert mountain trails across our property, then venture into countless miles of surrounding federal land and the neighboring Brightstar Wilderness. Stargaze under some of the darkest skies you’ll find, (Bortle zone 2) perfect for astro-photography. Explore ancient indigenous settlements with grinding stones still visible from centuries past. Take off-road vehicle excursions into the backcountry, or simply soak in the breathtaking mountain views of pristine high desert countryside.
Nature’s conveniences fuel your adventures. Our year-round creek is just 50 meters away – totally private with abundant wildlife and perfect for quiet nature moments between high desert adventures. We’re 8 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail if you need a resupply break or want to tackle sections. Horse enthusiasts can bring their mounts for desert riding adventures.
Stay comfortable while you explore. Our beautiful A-frame log ranch house accommodates up to ten guests, while our unique glamping pods sleep up to four. These are the only tiny houses within 22 miles of Lake Isabella that come with 90 acres of private high desert property to roam.
This is truly one-of-a-kind terrain – it would be a major task to find another place where high desert adventures, wilderness access, ancient history, and comfortable lodging come together in such a remote, pristine setting.
